It was that time of year again, perfection was the demand of the day and Lennox knew she would have to achieve it. It was bad enough that she had a new soon to be sister in law that simply didn't understand all the finer things in life, but there were things she could temporarily ignore. First and foremost was a successful event. Lennox Lepidus was known for always throwing wonderful parties and this was not going to be her first failure.
Today was the day that Lennox would have all her yearlings shown off to Acaedia. The spotlight would be on her and the horses fawned over. These were never knight's horses or anything suited for heavy duty. These were creatures of beauty to be looked at and loved, for ladies to arrive at city gates or to carry the banner of a great house. Everyone who was anyone in high society showed up on this day.
The first crop of apples from the family orchards had been brought down along with one of the last crops of peaches. The kitchens had been working non-stop for three days now for this affair. Even Lennox's dress had been a piece of work that had taken months to make. In her signature pink and gold, she had made sure that she would sparkle from every angle. She was up bright and early to oversee all the preparations and see that the horses were dressed in flowers and ornate blankets. There would be at least one led around near her for most of the party.
Now she waited, continuously double checking everything and readying herself with the full intention to personally greet each and every guest at her party.
Felix always loved parties, though he had to be honest; due to recent events, he was not as excited about this one as he would be normally. Amelia had been at the house for just less than a week now. She was staying in their home with them so that she could get any help that she needed to help her adjust to her new lifestyle, though they were not staying in the same room, of course. That wouldn't happen until their wedding night. Felix pushed the thought from his mind, not wanting to think about it.
He got dressed, looking very sharp in his best clothes. Amelia would have been provided with some appropriate options and would have a ladies' maid to help her get dressed and do her hair. Her final dress choice would have to be approved and Felix had volunteered to be the one to approve it. He didn't want Lennox to have even more on her plate and he was trying his best to at least be civil with Amelia.
Once he was dressed he made his way to her room, waiting outside of the door so that he could approve her dress and accompany her to the party.
Caprice loved a good party, and Lennox's parties were always some of the very best in Avalon. Only topped by those thrown by the royal family themselves. Lucky for Caprice, she always was able to attend them. Rich, lonely, men loved to have a beautiful woman on their arm at public events such as this. It was good money, plus it meant that she could enjoy the finer things that this world had to offer.
She entered the event in a black gown on the arm of an older, balding gentleman. His wife had died many years ago and since then he was a frequent client of The Black Rose. He preferred to switch around between the girls, it made him feel like it had more game than was really true. However, Caprice was definitely his favorite. Caprice was only available to the highest paying clients, so she did not mind the man's company. Besides, with her ability to put thoughts and images into his mind, she did not always actually have to do hardly any of the real work. Lucky for her, because sometimes he couldn't even get it up.
The guests were already streaming onto the Lepidus property, admiring the equines and the taking part of the delicious apples and peaches. The man on her arm walked proudly with Caprice on his arm. She was well known among the clients of The Black Rose, some of which she saw here already. She gave them little subtle winks as she passed. "Let me go get you some champagne, darling." She said to her client, kissing him on the cheek before moving into the crowd on her own.

This isn't the kind of parties she was used to as maids ran around her fixing her hair and slipping her into a coral dress with all the jewels made her smile. Teaching her to walk in heels which was a challenge at first, but she got it quickly. She smiled at herself in the mirror and she couldn't help herself into thinking she was beautiful, because she truly was in her own eyes. The dress fit her and it made her blue eyes shine and she wanted to learn to jewel a dress that was so beautiful. She ran her fingers over the fabric and smiled again. Yes, the dress was beautiful.
The knock at the door got her attention as she twirled around and came to a stop. She ran her fingers over her curly hair that laid down her back as pressed the dress down. Yes, she wanted to look good for her husband to be. Which was still a surprise that she would be marry. She opened the door and flashed Felix a smile,How do I look? She asked him as she turned around. She loved the dress that she got to choose out of the several dresses that were shown before her, but this one she would cherish forever. She just hoped that she would have fun at this party.
A genuine smile crept onto his lips as Amelia opened the door and he got a look at her. He had been expecting a mediocre choice but instead he was pleasantly surprised that she had made such a stunning choice. It looked perfect on her. He definitely wouldn't have to worry about Lennox being embarrassed, at least not by her appearance. "You look exquisite, Amelia." Felix said proudly. "You've done a wonderful job." He knew that this life was a big change for her, but she had been doing better than he had expected so far.
He stepped towards her, his hand running down one of her curls as he examined her. "Shall we go?" He asked, offering his arm. They made their way out of the house and across the perfectly manicured lawns toward the party. "How have you been handling the change?" He asked her, making conversation as they walked. He had not spent as much time with her as he knew he probably should have but he was trying.

Amelia loved the smile that spread across Felix's face which mad her cheeks pink. She quickly looked down at the dress as she pressed the fabric down, Thank you, It was hard to choose from. She gave him another smile becuase it was the truth. She never had so many dresses to choose from and also she wanted to make a good impression on his family and friends. Yes, she was just a farmer girl, but she was strong a woman with a large backbone. Plus the only person she wanted to make happy was Felix and make herself look like the local noblewomen even if she wasn't.
Her heart skipped a beat as he touched on of her curls and he gave him a smile. No other man has touched her hair except for her father and the touch was more than caring. Yes, she didn't know Felix, but she was slowly falling over him. He was a sweet man even if she hadn't gotten to see him very much since the week she has been here. She simple placed her hand in the crook of his elbow and smiled,Yes, I have never been to a party so grand before. She smiled at him and walked beside him. We have parties, but mostly just small gatherings of farmers, lots of food, and dancing until dark. She stopped herself and blushed again, I'm sorry I shouldn't be talking about it. She didn't look up to him instead just looked down.
Amelia missed her old life she kept getting up at five in the morning and walking around the halls. Yes, she talked to the servants like they were friends and sometimes even went the kitchen in the early mornings before anyone awoke and baked a couple cakes and make herself some eggs and bacon. She missed cooking and felt more at home in the kitchen than anywhere else in the home except at the barns which she caught herself running her hands on the horses coats and taking in the smell of hay and manure. When Felix asked her how she was handling the change her throat was dry, Ummm... she stuttered a little trying to get her voice back. It's different than what I'm used to, but its okay. She was lie about it, but she wanted to seem like she was taking the change. She was sure the servants have already spoke about her in the kitchen early in the mornings even if she promised them not to tell.
Felix was glad to see a smile on her face. At least they weren't just being cruel to each other. It could have easily been so different but they were both trying to make the best out their situation. "I think you'll like the party, just try to relax. You certainly look the part. " He said with a grin. Parties were one of his favorite things. "It's okay to talk about your home, Amelia." Felix replied. "Just maybe not in front of other people." He admitted. She was safe with him, but it probably wouldn't be a good idea around other nobles...or Lennox.
The arrived onto the lawns and Felix grabbed them both a drink from the wait staff. He took a long sip before fulling stepping into the party. He had heard that Amelia had been in the kitchens often, as well as in the barn. He chose not to tell her that he knew though. "I hope you learn to enjoy it." He said to her. It would be a rather long, unhappy life if she never got used to this new lifestyle.
He spotted Lennox in the distance, surrounded by handsome men trying to get her attention, and he decided maybe they should stay away from her for now. He didn't want to put her in a sour mood.
You couldn't miss the party of Lennox's it was more a social gathering than a party. If you wasn't invited I showed how you ranked. He smiled when he had gotten the invite to join. Even if was just about her stinky animals he was going to be there. He had one of the best business in Avalon there was no way he was going to miss it.
Osiris got out of the carriage and tipped the driver before moving off threw the crowd of noblewomen and men. Well except Caprice on the arm of a noblemen. He gave her a smile and raised a brow in her direction. She was lovely in that black dress as he came up behind her and whispered in her ear, You look nice, my love before moving off to greet Lennox.
As he got closer to Lennox he brushed the dust off of his coat before making a stop infront of Lennox, Lady Lennox, why don't you look lovely. I graciously thank you for the invite to such a party. All your parties are unforgettable. Osiris smiled at her and gently took her hand and kissed the top of it before moving off to join the party. Maybe he will see his sister and take her around the dance floor.

A servant had just finished putting little gold decorations into her dark hair, putting it up so that her dark curles hung about her shoulders in a flattering way. She wore only the lightest of make up, framing her grey eyes and painting her lips a pale pink. She was an attractive woman but Rhaella was nervous, this was the first time she'd been invited to a party without her husband and she was terrified of doing something that Carnell might find shameful, she would hate to have him mad with her when he returned.
Standing up she looked at the servant, the white dress she wore falling nearly about her legs, it was a beautiful day and she knew that a more modest outfit would have raised brows but she still worried that her husband would find it disgraceful. The noblewoman couldn't worry about that now though, a servant dabbed her with a sweet perfume before looking her over and smiled. "You look beautiful Lady Rhaella," the servant smiled almost excitedly.
Rhaella smiled shyly before going to the waiting carriage and getting inside, twiddling her fingers in a nervous fashion. She honestly didn't know what to think, what to expect. She was scared that she'd be ignored like she was in the court. The carriage ride was a short one, she found herself at the Lepidus estate before she'd even thought of how to address the hostess. Stepping out of the carriage she fixed her dress before walking inside, she looked dignified and noble but there was also an innocence and shyness to her appearance, she lingered away from the crowds, looking over the people silently.
Looking in the mirror Nephthys sighed, the left half of her long dark locks were pinned back in a way that forced them to flow down the right side of her back where the curls cascaded against her skin. She felt no need to wear make up, her ageless features didn't need them but for the sake of appearances she started to apply the barest of make up. She didn't need a lot of make up, she'd been putting it on for long enough to know how to effectively put it on without having to use much, it was one of the perks that came with age.
Her lower lashes were framed with a charcoal while her eyelids were painted with a silver powder that shimmered in light and brought out her grey eyes. The Istari looked over her reflection as she painted her lips a light red. Her eyes moved to the dress that hugged her figure, it had been made specially for her and was truly one of a kind but then again she was a one of a kind woman. The bronze and silver multitones of the sheath stood out against her alabaster skin while the pale bronze silk that covered her exposed legs and chest held a intricate design that couldn't help but draw the eye. Nephthys loved this dress.
A sensual and seductive being by nature the dress suited her perfectly, the former Courtesan was going alone to the grand affair, her lover had a meeting and she didn't want to bother him over something as simple as a party, he would come if there was time and she desperately hoped that there would be. In his absence however she would be her seductive self, charming people and doing whatever else she could to keep herself amused.
Her driver helped her into her carriage, closing the door behind her as she crossed her arms over her lap. Nephthys was the sort of woman that anyone who was anyone wanted to be at their party, she held the ear of the Emperor and everyone knew it but she was also the sort of woman that could destroy a families reputation without lifting a finger. Luckily for Lennox Nephthys was distracted by the absence of her love. As she arrived at the party she sighed, stepping out of the carriage and into the party, moving with an unnatural grace.
She spotted her brother and sighed, Oh delightful, not only am I without my love but I have to put up with the little traitor.

The day was beautiful for a party and not just any part that she was going to be attending. She sat in her bed chambers as the maids began to pull the dress together and getting it tight around her. She smiled her hair cascade down her back in small curls that surrounded her face. She smiled and fluttered her lashes at herself in the mirror. Yes, she was indeed a beautiful woman and if only she could capture her a "prince" charming. Once she did that she'd be set for life. Being the youngest daughter of the Falco family had it's own perks. She was spoiled to no end and of course the favorite. She could do no wrong in her brother eyes. Of course she didn't much of a chance to do anything wrong with them protecting her from anything to harm her.
She softly applied the simple make-up to brighten her features and applied a neutral brown around her blue eyes to make her eye pop with a bit of gold. She looked herself over in the mirror before picking up the skirt of the dress to press her feet into her heels. Once her shoes were on she crossed the room and headed out the door to where the party was. She grinned at several people who commented on her dress and she gave them thanks. She walked the pathway before finding her cousin Lennox, Oh Lennox, its a beautiful party like always. She gave her a hug before moving through out the crowd of people and to get her a drink of wine. She took a glass of wine and waited to see what man came calling to her.
From across the crowd Felix spotted a friend and smiled. "I'll go get us some drinks." He told Amelia. He squeezed her hand in comfort as he stepped away. He moved through the crowd easily and confidently, stopping to kiss a few ladies on the cheek with a smile as he greeted them. Their men looking a bit suspicious of Felix, it was one of his favorite games. To the more handsome husbands he would turn and give them a look up and down and wink behind their wife's back. It always threw them off. Such fun.
He passed by Aida as he continued and he gave her a hug before he finally reached the woman he had come to say hello to. "Rhaella! Aren't you just the picture of radiance today?" He said with smile and a kiss on each cheek. He held her at arms length to look at her. "You look stunning, really." He said with a smile. "I am so glad to see you here." He didn't add that he was glad she had decided to come even without her husband. She deserved to have a good time even when he wasn't around.

Everything was going smoothly, Lennox was twirling in her dress as she greeted her guests. Of course the horses were getting as much attention as she was, it was the whole point. Grooms and pages in uniform were everywhere to make sure every bit of manure was picked up immediately and kept well out of sight. Lennox was very nitpicky about certain things and all the staff were well aware of it. In the white fenced pasture behind the party tents, exercise riders were showing off the horses or all to see, all draped in flowers and colorful silk blankets.
"Aida, good to see you, looking lovely as ever darling," Lennox purred, but really the presence of Aida meant something more to her. Vittoria and Viola must be about as well, and Cyprian. Really the one that was most concerning in this matter would be Vittoria. She kissed Aida on the cheek and went to find the twins. As soon as she spotted them she neatly placed herself between them, linking elbows, "I have a lovely bit of information for us all," she said with her little smirk.
Vittoria was in her room getting pampered. She tapped her foot anxiously as one ladies maid finished pinning the last few curls in place and another applied some finishing touches to her make-up. She had said many times that she was one for being fashionably late but this was not that type of event. It was just too big of an event, but if she were too late, she might miss out on some important details. With her hair and make-up now done, she was finally ready to leave. When she arrived at the Lepidus property she hugged Aida before walking confidently through the crowd to find Viola her sage dress flowing freely behind her. She smiled at Felix and the woman he was with, she must be his betrothed Amelia, and then she spotted Viola and went over to her.
"Hello darling!" She said hugging her sister. "You look lovely as ever. Have you seen Lennox?" Vittoria looked around them trying to see Lennox through the crowd of people. "I wanted to congratul..." Just then Lennox was between them. Vittoria flipped her head back around to face her. She could tell by the look on her cousins face that the information she had was not just any information. "Well tell us quickly love!" She said pulling in close to hear the latest, with little attempt to veil the excitement in voice.

With a slender hand, Lennox flipped her hair over her shoulder with her coy little smile. She looked from one twin to the other, "I have just received word," being the smirking little tease she was, Len paused for a brief moment of drama. "The crown prince has returned of course and he will be in attendance today, his first big social outing since his return and it's at my party," she purred. In the social circles of ladies like themselves, this was an honor even if it happened to be a happy coincidence.
She briefly looked around, a quick scan really. Remington was flamboyant and very difficult to miss if he was present anyways, "He's not here yet, but we all know his habits of being late. We'll just have to stay on our toes." Lennox stated in her graceful crisp tone. Her eyes flickered over to the blonde in a coral dress, "And we must make sure that peasant doesn't do anything disgraceful here." she added with an eye roll and pout. "I can't believe my father is letting it happen but at least she looks decent with one of my old dresses adjusted for her. My darlings, I beg of you to help me make sure she doesn't cause embarrassment by acting like some plain commoner." Oh what a tragedy it would be if the prince was put off by something stupid said by a common girl. Did peasants even know how to behave in the presence of royalty? If Remington was involved, Lennox needed to make sure that everything was perfection.
